Hi folks,

Just wanted you to be aware of another species that might be confused with Black swallowwort that isn't listed as a look alike on the fact sheet.

Solanum ducamera (bittersweet nightshade)
  The flowers look similar but the petals are curled backwards and not fleshy.

Also the leaves can have a smaller lobe at the base.

Thank you for the suggestion of a lookalike. The red fruits of the species you mention also help differnentiate it from swallowwort. Swallowwort has slender seedpods and small seeds with downy tufts that are much like dogbane seeds.
